For the millions and millions of knockoff fans out there, I suggest you read below. Recently, Chris from Speed Alliance sat down with Jim from Work Wheels to break down what are the possible hazards of purchasing knockoff..KNOCKOFF Wheels.
Jim broke down key elements to why and how knockoff wheels are not the best alternative for the consumer.
1. Casting control - The wheels are obviously poorly cast, the material possibly contains air pockets that cause the wheel to have weak spot. When a wheel takes an impact, the energy travels through the wheel, and when the wheel has a weak spot it would start to fatigue.
2. Design - Many copy wheels are not copied exactly the same as some originals. These are areas where consumer may over look, such as certain radius or angle on the spokes or back pad. The radius and angle plays an important part on a wheel’s strength. Example, a sharper radius corner will tend to develop crack over low radius if the corner wasn’t designed properly. So without proper engineering the wheel can fail under stress. Click here to read the rest of this entry and to see pictures of some busted Rota Wheels…

Radiusing a fender is basically a general term used to describe cutting the fender opening, usually enlarging the diameter in order to accommodate and “frame” larger wheels. Hot rod guys do it all the time because a lot of them are running crazy size wheels/tires (especially in the back). Also because it’s the only way to ensure their fender openings end up looking the same side-to-side, since a lot of those cars aren’t perfectly constructed from the factory to begin with. This is especially the case when these guys had replacement fenders that weren’t always an exact duplicate of the original.
Anyway, this is something I foresee we will be seeing a lot more of from the big dog cars from Japan. Click here to learn more about fender radiusing and to see pictures…

Imitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery. So then the Japanese must really love Aston Martins, because from Japanese tuning house DAMD comes yet another Aston Martin look-alike.
Like the 350Z roadster, DAMD’s Nissan Skyline 350GT/Infiniti G35 Coupe puts an Aston snout on a Datsun. Aside from the custom front end and a set of ghastly chrome rims, the rest of the coupe seems pretty much stock.
The Aston G and the Aston Z are both part of the Black X Metal line-up, in collaboration with ANCEL, and also includes an Aston-nozed MX-5 (similar to this one). Click here for more pictures of the Aston Martin G35

Is it a 350Z? Or is a Aston Martin? Well actually, it’s a little of both.
DAMD and ANCEL recently teamed to up produce a vehicle dubbed, “BLACK X METAL.” The vehicle is a Nissan 350Z roadster which is built to be a Aston Martin look-alike. It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous individuals are counterfeiting our A’PEXi Auto Timers, using our trademarked logo, and ripping people off by peddling them as a genuine A’PEXi product. These individuals are con-artists who are not interested in providing you quality performance products and are only interested in making a quick buck off unsuspecting customers. A’PEXi is concerned about the potential damage that the counterfeit Turbo Timers may cause. Poor circuit design, incomplete programming, use of inferior materials, and inconsistent manufacturing processes could lead to car malfunction, short circuits, electrical fires, electrocution, and possible physical injury and are not recommended for use.
Key features of the A’PEXi Auto Timer, such as the Parking Brake Safety Protection and Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor functions are non-operational on the counterfeit units.
In order to ensure that our customers do not get ripped off, we offer several ways to distinguish the counterfeit Turbo Timers from genuine A’PEXi Auto Timers. Please note that points 1, 9, and 10 are most effective at identifying counterfeits because they are the most difficult to change. Like all good companies, Bride has fallen victom to counterfeit regimes. Here’s the skinny:
Dear valued customers,
Dealers and buyers please beware of Bride seats that are made of “alcantara” or “suede” materials. These are not authorized Tee’s Corporation products. The seats are counterfeit and have not been put through the necessary testing to comply with Tee’s Japan’s high standards. These counterfeit seats are not made in Japan. Many are being sold online as “authentic” and supposedly “backdoored” from a manufacturer outside of Japan, where these alleged seats are manufactured. These online companies or individuals will sell these seats with a disclaimer of “ALL SALES FINAL” or “NO REFUNDS.” The current seats being counterfeited are the BRIX II and the ERGO II, both in black, red, other and combinations of all.
Tee’s Corporation is very proud to be one of the few companies in the world who still believe in the utmost quality and workmanship that can be expected from a Japanese manufacturer.
For any questions regarding the authenticity of the seats or any other products, please do not hesitate to contact one of our authorized dealers or Tee’s USA.
Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
Tee’s USA

Bottom line? “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.” Think about, why on earth would anyone sell a new Bride seat for $200-$400? There has to be a catch. Think objectively so you yourself don’t fall victim to the game.
I’ve attached some pictures below of these shameful replicas. Remember, STOP THE COPY!
