So, I am wondering if these $4.00 gas prices are affecting your driving habits. Are you driving less now? Are you combining your errands into as little trips as possible? What are you doing to save gas, or do you not care until gas hits $4.50 or $5.00?
This is a serious question for you all, please comment with your thoughts on gas prices and how they are affecting your daily routines if at all.
Personally, I find myself driving less and combining my errands into as few trips as possible. Meaning, if I have to go to several banks, the grocery store, and hardware store, I would probably tackle all that at once and not come back and forth between home and errands. Before, I didn’t really care and would do as much as I could with the time that was available. Meaning, lets say I only had enough time that day to go to the grocery store and 1 bank but not the second bank and the hardware store. Well, now, I would probably consider going the next day instead and doing everything at once instead of going back and forth from home and wasting gas.
So let’s hear it, what’s your story?

Well it’s as high as $4.50 here in Hawaii. (and as low as $3.50 in the right spots) … but I rarely use my car. I drive maybe 4 times a week to get groceries (need the trunk space) and to get to religious activities. But a $40 monthly bus pass is a huge money saver for getting to work. Not to mention ‘recreational vehicle’ status on my insurance.

Well i just don’t drive the car hard anymore. Catch me in the slow lane conserving gas
It really works have brought my gas fill up to about every 1 1/2 weeks or so. But geez does it hurt to see the total reach up to 40 sometimes 50

I bought a 30 dollar razor to get to and from work…. Heh, It’s already paid for itself and more in gas. My work is close though, about a third of a mile.

I want to get a motorcycle, but at the same time, I like being able to live. So, I guess I’ll just have to cough it up. Thankfully, I’m not really taking a huge impact. My commute is 2.5 miles and I don’t really go out far on the weekends. ‘Till I get a new job, I won’t have to contemplate on how much I truly need to have doors.

I used the gas prices as an excuse to park my F-150 and buy a motorcycle. I’m saving enough on gas to pay for the bike payments and insurance. With a 40-mile round trip to work and lots of other activities, I was dropping about $300 a month on fuel, excluding any unplanned trips.

Now you’re thinking Evan! Great idea for those of you who have a good commute especially in the Bay Area where crossing a bridge equals an automatic $4.00 toll! With a bike, you can just cruise through carpool and save that too!
